Lazy Day Without a Dull Moment

While Ryan has been home I took the last of my vacation time from the office to spend some time doing this and that, and enjoying some time of serious conversations, lots of laughter and just enjoying having him home. Yesterday we had a play day. We called KT to see if she was up for a day of exploring and off the four of us went went, driving to Port Orford, a tiny little coastal town about 90 minutes South of us.
Our first stop was at Paradise Point, a beautiful spot on the coast that none of us had visited, but will be a nice place to take a picnic lunch in better weather. Ryan was up to his usual antics- - - he jumped out of the jeep and off a cliff. This mom has learned not to get too worked up about what this boy will do, going with the flow is usually my best defense. Here are a few pics of him climbing back up to the parking lot.
We stopped at Battle Rock, where Ryan climbed the rock to get a few shots of his beloved Oregon coast while the rest of us stayed in the jeep away from the high ear-ache giving winds. KT introduced us to a quaint little Italian restaurant, Port Orford Breadworks, where we enjoyed spaghetti and giant meatballs, Italian sausage spaghetti and pinnai sandwiches. KT and Katherine took a trip to Italy a couple of years ago so it was fun to hear about how they managed to communicate with the locals, the Bed and Breakfast Inns they stayed at and getting around on public transportation.
If you look closely you can see the poster in the background...hilarious! The monkey is totally sloshed...funny!
Another day of fun memory making and enjoying the company of those we love.
